Two Things

1) Have you ever bought a print book and then picked up the Kindle version as well for said book?

2) If you heard about Amazon/Kindle’s “Matchbook” promotion, do you think it’s a great idea or just a silly waste of ether-ink?

  1. I just got an e-mail from Amazon about it. I don’t see any reason not to sign up, but I don’t imagine that many people will buy both an e-book and a print copy of my books. I, myself, tend to go with e-books exclusively.

  2. As far as I’m concerned this is an effort of Amazon/Kindle to make it look like they care about self-publishers. But seriously, the only people who buy my paperbacks are people who know me — with very, very few exceptions. So, if I can’t get strangers to pay $9.99 for a paperback, what benefit of it is to me to let them know they can also get the e-book for a discounted price — which is actually what I’m already charging for my e-book since strangers won’t buy it for more than .99 anyway.
