Why the Crowd

Thursday morning I told my youngest son to take his raincoat with him to school, even though it was sunny and warm. The weather forecast said we’d be having a huge storm, though it didn’t look stormy at 8:30 in the morning.

As we waited at the bus stop, a neighbor kid, sans any kind of coat, pointed at him and laughed. My son didn’t seem to notice or care about being mocked.

At 3:45 the bus came from school and the laughing kid got off first, still coatless. It was pouring and he ran all the way to his house in the rain. He was quickly soaked.

My son walked calmly off the bus, flipped his hood up, and we walked home.

And we had ourselves an awesome storm!
