Twitter Experience is All About the Noise

I checked out Twitter. Posted some stuff. But I find that everyone there is talking, and few people are listening. Everyone wants to get the word out about what they are doing, and I’m no different. But if we all raise our voices just a little bit more, we sound like a Flock of Seagulls. And I ran so far away.

  1. I saw A Flock of Seagulls live and the lead singer was so wasted he couldn’t sing their one hit and was booed off the stage. At the time my friends and I were all angry, now it’s a hilarious story. And I raaaaan, I ran so far awaaaay 🙂

You are right about twitter! And yet, I did figure out how to enjoy it. I mainly enjoy connecting through the Notifications stream. This is where I have come to meet the kindest, funniest, and some very talented folks. It took some time, though, to find this more quiet place among the noise. I’m here if you ever want to chat with a twitter fan: https://twitter.com/AngieMc6

    Happy weekend 🙂

  2. I agree. The thing I find fascinating is how many people are trying to promote themselves or their books or their whatever on Twitter. We are told as authors that we must have a presence there. Tell me this … when was the last time you made a purchase based on a message that was no more than 140 characters in length?
