About this author blog

This blog is about the process and results of writing fiction. I’ll be posting background and inspirations for stories, and updating you about the new novel I’m writing, so you can see the real time process.

I am a father of 6 (hers, mine and ours), husband of 1, and author of three novels. My family has a vicious Chihuahua, 8 needy cats, and a very demanding betta fish. My Subaru has 4 matching polymer wheel covers, but that’s a different story.

My favorite authors include Kurt Vonnegut, Albert Camus, Hermann Hesse, George Orwell, Anne Rice, Max Barry, fellow Oregonian Brian Doyle and Fyodor Dostoevsky.

This blog is also open to a variety of creative topics, as I compose music. My favorite musical entities include U2, Mozart, Depeche Mode, Journey, Rimsky-Korsakov, Aimee Mann, They Might Be Giants, Beethoven, Neil Diamond, Led Zeppelin, Annie Lennox, Styx, Queen and Rush.

All works in this blog are works of fiction. Places, events, and situations in these stories are purely fictional and any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is coincidental.
